The clock is ticking on the ability of the US Congress and the Trump Administration to prevent a government shutdown.  If they don’t reach an agreement by September 30, a short-term continuing resolution (CR) is needed to extend current funding and give Congress more time to finish the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations process.
